How to Have People WANT What You Do, by Dr. Ogi Ressel

Warm hellos to all my favorite people!
I need to share a concern with you:
Many doctors are having great
difficulty having their patients accept
and agree with their recommendations
- I hear this from the whole profession.
It seems that after a few weeks, many
patients leave or ask for a reduction in
their care. And doctors are willing to
compromise for fear of losing the
patient.
If you are one who is experiencing this problem, know that there is a solution.
And it all stems from the fact that you do not really own what youare suggesting.
I mentioned in an earlier THOT that in order to get to B in your practice, you need
to totally leave A (remember? It might be a really good idea to re-read it again).
B represents everything you've ever wanted.
A is where you are at present.
You can't get to B if your foot is still stuck in A.
You can't get to B if your attention is all on A - that you are trying to "get away" from A.
You are still stuck in A.
And that is part of the problem. You need to make a mental shift and it is instant
- an AHA moment! You are there!
The other part of this is that your patients do not fully appreciate the gravity and importance
of what you are attempting to achieve.
It is not real for them and as a result, they do not really value it.
They do not understand that a subluxation sets into motion what I used to call an "Advancing
Degenerative Condition" (ADC).
They totally need to get the idea that it is relentless. That it will destroy tissues, that it is not
related to eating well, and exercise, and living a good life.
None of that matters.
That it sets into motion a cascade of events causing more pathology every day, every week,
every month, and every year.
And that you are the only one who can stop it!
And if it is important to your patient, they will want your care.
Simple.
And they will raise the money to pay for it. Somehow.
Why?
Because it is important to them and it is what they WANT!
Listen.....if their dentist suddenly told them that they needed 2 crowns and the cost was 7,000,
they will find the means to pay for it.
Simple.
It would not be a problem.
Why?
Because they understand what can happen if this is not done.
And the benefit of it being done as well.
Do your patients truly understand? I doubt it. AND that is whereall your difficulties are coming from.
It is not important to them because they really don't get it.
Why would that be?
It is because, at some level, you did not communicate the importance of what you do. They don't
see your passion and feel your urgency to have this corrected. And besides, they feel better.
So here is the solution - get back to my basics. Call me, email me, attend the Alumni-Refresher
Program and simply become amazingat being able to have your patients totally understand what
you do.
I have to tell you that when I was in practice, 98% of my patients would pay me either yearly or
quarterly. In advance. 98%!
And no one left.
You see, if I can do it, you can do it.
You just need to decide to do it and decide to excel at it!
This is your year. Decide that it will be your best!
That's it!
Let's do this!
My warmest wishes,
Dr. Ogi
PS: Please let me know if this made sense to you!
