Notes From Our Clinical Seminar, By Dr. Ogi Ressel

October 04 2009, 12:00 am

Warm hellos to everyone!!!
All I can say is that it was amazing! We just held the inaugural Clinical Seminar in Buffalo,
NY, on Saturday!
And I have to tell you that it was very different from every other coaching seminar, and
incredible.
It was not about learning how to "get" and snare new patients or convince them that they
should stay with you beyond their pain-relief stage.
No.
It was all about learning the specifics of being an amazing doctor. The purpose of the
Clinical Seminar was to have doctors absolutely and completely understand the effects of
a long-standing Subluxation, - its pathophysiology, kinesiopathology, neural patterning,
and histochemical changes - and be able to translate this knowledge into a construct a
patient would easily understand....at a Grade VIII level.
Listen.....I've said this before: If they don't see what you see and they don't understand
what you understand, they are not coming with you.
End of story!
Here are some excerpts fdrom the Clinical Seminar:

Years ago, it was thought that Spinal Degeneration (SD) was just part of the normal
aging process.
........And that notion is still very much prevalent today! But evidence now suggests (and
proves without a shadow of doubt), that this process can not only be slowed down and
stopped, but also reversed! This is based on the fact that tissues are capable and
programmed for repair.....

...The earliest observable change of a Subluxation is an alteration in the normal
biomechanics of the motor unit - its function is disturbed. This changes the
microenvironment of the chondrocyte and causes an up to 2000% increase in water
retention......

.....We all know this, but our patients don't - most chronic Subluxation patterns originate
in childhood.....

There are two main types of Subluxations:

1. Positional - no explanation is needed. A patient can readily see that it is "out."....And
they can also see when it is back "in." Simple.

2. Biomechanical - the biomechanical Subluxation cannot be seen on film but one can see
its effects. The problem is that there is a time interval between the onset of a such a
subluxation and its visible effects.
It is in that interval that most damage occurs.

....The development of normal spinal curvatures, functional postural kinetics and spinal
neurobiomechanical efficiency is based upon exact and proper function of the base of
support for the spine - the pelvis.....

...A Subluxation anywhere in the pelvic structure can undermine normal biomechanical
patterns, creating a biomechanical distortion of the pelvis. This can adversely affect
spinal function, creating multiple subluxation complexes at other areas of the spine -
Adaptive scoliotic spinal curvatures are most often the result of chronic aberrations in
pelvic function......

....These subluxation complexes alter normal neural homoeostatic reflex activity
predisposing the individual to facilitated and abnormal somato-visceral and/or
somato-somatic efferents, often  with a viscero-somatic return.
These are the seeds of vertebrogenic disease......

...Embarrassment to the autonomic nervous system has been cited as the medium
between scoliotic biomechanical distortions and visceral histopathophysiology......

......These adaptive responses are remembered and patterned and thus the young
nervous system is conditioned for future response. This process of neurological
"learning" or "programming" of the central nervous system with respect to locomotion,
posture, proprioception, and body kinetics begins within a few short months after birth.
This is why a subluxation is a habit the body has learned.
It is a learned response.....

Ok.....that's enough - you get the idea!
This is what patients want to understand at their level. If you can explain to them what
you do beyond the fact that "Subluxations are bad and your job is to wipe them out", or
"convert" them without fear or religious hype, they will start to trust you and see you
as an incredible doctor. The result is that people will flock to you from everywhere - no
marketing is necessary!

Here is what some of the doctors who attended the Clinical Seminar had to say:

-  "Great Day!
-  Really helped me truly understand what a Subluxation does.
-  Loved Dr. Ogi's practice and clinical "gems"
-  I want to attend another one!
-  I will improve my outcomes by understanding realistic schedules of care.
-  I really enjoyed you and your knowledge
-  I was honored to be there!
-  Much better understanding of what I am doing.
-  Incredible confidence booster!
-  Gave me the confidence and knowledge to let my patients know what is really going on!
-  Thank you so much for what you do!
-  It firmed up my purpose as a chiropractor!
-  The practical hands-on sessions were fantastic!
-  More ammo added to my confidence and competency!
-  Topics were practical - no patient "management"
-  Loved the hands-on stuff
-  I finally understand the Subluxation process!
-  Learning how to communicate with patients."

Etc....

Ok...You get the idea! This was different than just about anything you've seen.
And that is my purpose - to steer you away from the salesmanship, the rabble of marketing,
and the trailer-trash mentality of some Chiropractic coaching seminars.  I'd like you to
restore dignity to our Profession once again - before the hucksters and quick-buck con artists
convinced you otherwise.
I can see it all now....more cards and letters!

I plan to offer the Clinical Seminar in the Spring and in the Fall and I am planning to open
attendance to doctors outside the PEP Program.
Why?
Simple - I feel everyone needs to hear the message that practice should be fun, stress-free,
highly profitable and should teach doctors to empower his/her patients without fear tactics and
marketing ploys.
It should be done from the heart and emanate from your very soul. And...you should practice
from the perspective that people need you. You do not need them! I like that!
Attendance will be very limited so that learning becomes a very personal experience.
If you are interested in attending the Spring Clinical Seminar (have not determined location yet),
please let me know as soon as you can - I become full really quickly.
Warmest wishes,
Dr. Ogi Ressel

Here is your affirmation for this week:
                                                            I am wanted by everyone,
I am guided by a Universal Power - everything I touch
                                                                      turns out well.
                                                                    I am on purpose.
