The "What Ifs" in Your Life, by Dr. Ogi Ressel

Warm hellos to everyone!
You know......sometimes I can get really brutal with the Truth. I can really get in your face,
under your skin, and have you face what you've been avoiding. You'll have to forgive me but
that is my mission - to have you help as many children and their parents in your lifetime as
you possibly can. No whining, no wingding, no hoping, no dreaming, and no prisoners!
You are probably thinking that I should lighten up a bit - let you take in some air.
Right?
Not a chance!
I've mentioned this topic before but we are going to revisit it......
Let's talk about an issue which stops most doctors from achieving the Practice of their Dreams
- Timing.
Here's what I have noticed: Most doctors I chat with are very much ruled by Fear and its
associates, the "what ifs." You know the way this game is played - you are an expert in it. You
play it all the time:
"What if my associate doesn't work out?"
"What if my new CA doesn't work out?"
"What if my new wife/husband doesn't work out?" - don't even go there!
"What if I get this new office and I fail?"
"What if I can't get any new patients?"
"What if everyone leaves me because I don't accept insurance any longer?"
"What if I join this coaching program and it doesn't work out?"
"What if I can't handle the extra patients who want to see me?"
"What if no one pays me?"
"What if the sky falls in tomorrow?"
"What if my ship doesn't come in?" - We'll go after it!
"What if...........?" - you can create your own!
Listen...I really need you to take a peek at what you do ...and in a big way.
Here's an important thing you need to remember: When you open yourself up to the Universe,
it will provide you with the ways and the vehicles to do what you dream of.....BUT, how do you
know if the timing is correct? I mean, how do you know? How do you know that the girl/guy
you've been dating is the one? Or that this is the right time to start your family and have your
baby? Or, when is the best time to buy your house? or move? or diet? or make that scary
investment? Or, take that course? or enroll in the PEP Program? or hire your associate?
How do you know when it is just right for you?
How do you absolutely know that this opportunity staring you right in the face is not a disguised
nightmare? I mean, yes, you are bold, but this scares the living ___right out of you!
Well, here is the brutal truth: You don't.
It is called taking a calculated risk.
Oh my.....now we are really freaked out!
So now you invent excuses why this "thing" cannot possibly be right for you.
Isn't that the way it goes?
.....And of course it is also "expensive". (I like this excuse - you sound just like your patient)
So....It must not be right.
Right?
Right?????? Hmmmmm.....
I've always found that we, as doctors, tend to analyze waaayyyyy too much. And eventually we
talk ourselves OUT of what we are facing. We become very much ruled by FEAR. It is a crippling
disease. It can stop one cold. And it often does. The result is INERTIA. ...And you slowly watch
your dreams evaporate.....Not Ok!
Ask yourself this: What is the very worst thing that can happen? The reality of the worst thing
you can imagine ever happening is zilch. So....if that is the case, then what is stopping you?
In the quiet of your Mind and Spirit, Ask your own Innate for guidance. The answer you'll receive
will always be correct for you. You may not agree, but it will be always right for you. And you'll
have to admit that what is stopping you are all the excuses you've piled up onto your wagon -
and they spell FEAR.
Listen....Life is not meant to be feared. No. Life is meant to be lived and reveled! And it is
full of opportunities just for you to take a hold of. And opportunities are much butterflies - they
light when you least expect them. And then you are faced with the prospect of a choice. Do I
seize the moment? Or do I shoo it away like some bothersome fly?
Here's the secret to this: There is never a perfect time. There's never the perfect time to plan
your baby - you just have one. There's never the perfect time for that move - just do it.
Never the perfect time to attend the PEP Program.
There is never a perfect time for that opportunity - you just seize it.
The universe sends us many such opportunities - many of them are cleverly disguised as
PROBLEMS - Oh my..........more scary thoughts!
But you see, sometimes the end result cannot be seen immediately because it is down the
hall and to the right.
And know this: The Universe sends you these opportunities for you to grow.
So....go out there and seize your day!
And no Excuses!
