Handling Disappointment, by Dr. Ogi Ressel

June 14 2009, 12:00 am

Warm hellos to everyone!
I wanted to address the issue of disappointment for a moment.
Everyone has experienced it, everyone knows it, and everyone has gone through
it - it is a part of life.
You cannot escape it, but you do not have to live your life mired in it!
Disappointment is something that happens when you've set your expectations at
a certain level and they do not materialize. Life can be like that - we've all witnessed
it firsthand.
We've all experienced the anticipation and the thrill and excitement of planning of a
certain marketing event, for example, and we've certainly expected tons of new patients
from it as well. That is what drives us - helping tons of people and the thrill and challenge
of turning them onto Chiropractic!! The problem is that it just didn't quite turn out the way
we thought it would. There weren't tons of people there, and the results just were not what
we've anticipated - we're disappointed.
Listen......life happens. The Universe works in mysterious ways.
The problem is that many doctors carry the burden of their disappointment on their
shoulders for days and even years. And it then tends to overshadow their whole life. It tends
to overshadow everything else that is good. And all they can ever think of is how this or that
didn't work out. Or how few patients they have. Or how little money, or people are leaving
them, or the guy down the street is just sooooo much busier. etc.
It is easy to get caught up in disappointment and live life by its rules.
I say no more!
Enough.
Get pissed off!
Decide that you've screwed up somehow, that you've miscalculated, that you've missed the
mark for whatever reason. So what?
Be ok with it.
Be fine.
Always remember that tomorrow is another day.
Tomorrow you'll get another chance to have a brand new start. A new beginning.
A fresh new day.
And you'll be given a choice; You can screw it up again, or you can decide not to.
The choice is totally in your hands. You can live your day with more disappointment or you
can live your day with joy at being given the opportunity of planning yet another event, or
whatever.
Listen.....after 33 years of being a chiropractor and having the top pediatric and family practice
on the planet, I've learned that it is ok to screw up - I'm an expert at it. Tons of practice!
And I've also learned that I have the power to make a choice. I chose not to dwell on
failures and disappointments. I chose to live my life in abundance.
I chose to dwell on the wonderfulness in my life.
And you can also! Decide your next day is a new start for you, a brand new beginning.
Draw that line in the sand, step over it, and never look back!
Chose to consider the good....and then do something pro-active to offset a possible
disappointing situation. If you have few new patients, little income, no children, few patients,
enroll in a Program that will teach you how to have the Practice of your Dreams - mine!
There's a concept!
There is no BS, there's no dishonesty, no selling, no hype and no fear tactics used at all.
It is honest and you'll learn how to treat people like Human Beings. It is clinically amazing,
and is simply designed to make you the most sought-after doctor in your community! Simple.
I have two Program starting this Fall:
Toronto, August 29/30th
Niagara Falls, October 24/25th
And I have to tell you that the Toronto Program is almost full already.
And if you are still a bit unsure, I urge that you complete the Practice Health Mini-Check up
on mthis website. It will give me an opportunity to see why things are not happening for you.
So....no more disappointment.
Do something about it!
Your Tomorrow is brand new and just waiting for you!
Warmest wishes,
Dr. Ogi Ressel
